  12. I went out today (Michaels and Walmart) and can’t find the marbles that are big enough for these – they are too small to fit on the 3/4 inch magnets. Did you use 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch magnets for this? I’m frustrated I couldn’t find bigger marbles!

    I made those too this year – for office gifts – I tried to stick with “holiday” themed pictures. The whole time I was making them they were as Christmas gifts – but now I have to change them to “holiday” gifts. Except there’s nothing in the HOLIDAY season that would inspire me to give gifts to the weird people I work with – it’s all about the Christmas for me.
    Would you mind telling what glue you used? I used a random Elmer’s product called Stix-All. And it worked pretty well but smelled up my house and gave me a headache.

  14. I made these with my daycare kids, only I used their photos instead. They turned out really cool. And then I put them in an Altoids tin with a bigger photo on the front.

  16. I liked making these too – I need to get a big round paper punch next time, but the Pottery Barn and West Elm mags were perfect for it! If I can’t afford the wonderfully upholstered couches, at least I can make magnets out of them! 🙂

  17. These are great! I make these, too, also via Not Martha.
    What kind of glue did you use? I’ve been experimenting with different types. I used a Tacky clear Craft glue but got a shine on the pictures. I’m not using clear caulk, if you can believe it, and it works pretty well. But I’m curious what you use?

  19. Okay I have been working on these for days. I too could not find glass ones that are big enough. And surpisingly magnets were hard to come by in the right sizes as well.

    Well finally, Home Depot for 1″ ceramic magnets, Tap Plastics for acrylic Cabochons, and the now for the glue.

    Well, I used the silicone sealant, Not Martha recommends which works great for picture to magnet, but for me, nothing but bubble city for the picture to Cabochon part. So I went to SuperGlue. And while less room for error on the placement part, absolutely no bubble.

    I too, am printing out family pictures and pets for friends. Glossy paper and I have not had any image leak through.

    Now if I could just get those Bath Bombs of Not Martha’s to work, I will be a happy Christmas elf.

    long time reader, first time commenter — just wanted to say i loved the magnets so much i went crazy and made my own! after christmas i’m still the proud owner of 100 some magnets.

    thank you so much for exposing me to such a time consuming and all addicting craft.
