The Photo Shoot

Everything in the Marriott’s restaurant Arterra bespoke ‘Excellence.’

The chef and the editor had been waiting. The first food plate was finally created to perfection and waiting for its close-up on the small white-clothed table, expertly decorated in front of the 10-foot tall gilded mirror which reflected the entire decadent room.

The photographer, arriving slightly late, hurried to make amends with perfect shooting. She lined up the shot, checked the lighting and cleared people out of the room that would be in the mirror’s reflection. After adjusting the wineglasses and cleaning off some smudges on the glassware, the shot was perfect.

She moved in slightly to get a better angle…

and tripped over the chair rung. Her elbow came down hard on the table and slid up towards the perfect plate, which in turn mashed the wineglass against the mirror. Red wine and Quail eggs went everywhere.

My jacket needs to go to the dry cleaners.
