I’m a mentor, writer, and artist who is passionate about learning, sharing, and empowering others to live their best lives. I'm creating a community on Patreon and I hope you'll connect with me there. My mentoring focuses on intimacy, mental health, gender, sex, and practical self-care. I help clients understand where these major components of life converge and how our responses to them impact our ability to be successful. I use a variety of healing modalities in my mentoring practice with clients including energy work*, practical self-care/self-discovery, kink, mind/body connection, craniosacral, emotional processing, and aromatherapy.
As a trauma-informed Energy Worker*, certified Holistic Health Coach, mental health advocate, and sex educator. I hold the journey my clients are navigating as sacred. I am committed to cultural humility and recognize how white supremacy, institutionalized racism, and injustice impact the body/mind and contribute to illness in many forms. I stand behind equity and try daily to do less harm than the day before.
As one of the first bloggers to speak openly about mental health online in 2002, it was a privilege to pave the way for deeper and more open conversations about mental health and stigma impact. Being asked by Diablo Cody to be a consultant on the Showtime series, United States of Tara, where (a highly fictionalize version of) my life was used as a springboard for the main character was a transformative moment. I truly felt the importance of my voice and experience.
I use writing and painting as healing arts and encourage my clients to find and blend modalities that work for them. Weaving nurture and care of others in mentoring, along with my writing and art, fills me with joy.
xo, Leah Blooms*My relationship with being a Reiki Master has changed over the years. While I do use my own personal type of energy work in my practice with clients, which includes what I learned in my time training to become a Reiki Master, I no longer give attunements to others. I became passionate about Reiki when I believed my family genealogy included indigenous peoples. The Reiki Master I learned from had lineage that was similar to what I believed at the time was my own, along with Japanese lineage and training. That family myth has since been disproven via genetic testing. I'm made of 99.7% colonizer bloodlines and as such, have no claim to be a Reiki Master or spirit worker. I refuse to knowingly contribute to the harm done to other cultures by white colonization and spiritual bypassing.
Practical Healing With Leah

Working with Leah has been transformative, during one of the most challenging (but rewarding) years of my life. I started working with them because I’m a late bloomer and only recently came out as queer a few years ago. Figuring out my pronouns at age 40 has been scary and exciting, and I’m still navigating things — but the lessons I’m learning and self-discovery has been profound. The process of always coming out would be so much more difficult without Leah’s support and the space that they hold for me in our sessions. I’m so, so grateful to have found Leah online, and the work that I’m doing with them is something that I’ll cherish for a long time. Book a session or sign up for Leah’s Patreon or a workshop — you’ll see what I mean! :)
I’ve been having mentor sessions with Leah for about 6 months, and I’ve undergone some pretty radical changes in a really positive way. I’ve learned to recognise and understand some longstanding behaviour patterns that I hadn’t noticed I was repeating. I now feel like I know what’s behind them, what they mean, what my underlying motivations are, and what reward systems I had set up in my brain. I’ve now been given the tools I need to see if these patterns are helpful or not and, if they’re not, what I can do about it.
Through our private work together, [Leah] has supported me in uncovering layers of old patterns and beliefs that do not serve me anymore. In each session, she creates a safe space to shine light on the dark shadows that have been hidden away for so long and helps welcome in deeper levels of self-love, acceptance, and inner strength that I never knew existed. I appreciate Leah for her compassion, intuitive guidance, and genuine desire to be of service.
It has been such a beautiful experience, uncovering bits of me that I did not know I had; protections and layers that I did not know I had built. Leah has taught me how to be self aware, soothe my anxieties and fears, recognize my emotions and where they may be stuck. Every time I walk out of her office, I’m lighter, more myself, and more resolute in taking the next steps in my story. I want everyone I know to experience Leah, her love, and her touch. She is amazing.
I have learned so much from working with Leah and she’s also helped me uncover and reinforce things I already knew that I didn’t quite know I knew. She’s an incredibly gifted teacher and listener. She hears what I’m saying even when I have trouble finding the words to say it. I sleep better, work smarter, play more joyfully, and love with more tenderness and appreciation.
The value I place on these experiences [with Leah] is beyond measure! I see the world through a more enlightened and brighter perspective. I use [her] methods to support my experience of the process and proceed with love. This means improving the quality of care I give my accupuncture patients. As a wife, this means having a better relationship with my husband. The peace of mind I experience daily has grown enormously.
